Blue Sky 401k Specialists is a great partner with a unique origin story behind their brand which came to life back in 2016. This company got its start when three former employees chose to go in together and purchase the business from the owner. The new owners reached out to be and tasked me with coming up with the positions and overall look and feel of their new company.

Being that the company would be called ‘Blue Sky’ immediately I wanted to choose a cool color palette composed of some highly saturated blues, greys, and sand color. These colors portray the solid reliability and trustworthiness of this company and its employees. While the neutral colors are there to portray their down-to-earth approach to pension plan administration.
The brand new logo
So the Blue Sky logo is a two-toned logo that has a paper airplane flying through the letters. This plane represents the core of the companies ability to come up with creative solutions to help their clients succeed.
So why is there a paper airplane in the logo?
This brand's development began with a story that a story they shared with me about a day when the new bosses challenged the employees to a paper airplane folding contest. It was this simple story that I thought best evoked the spirit of the new company. A company that would be serious, professional, and yet approachable.

I wanted to ensure that these cards were as vibrant as the companies origin stories. With that in mind, we have large swatches of the brand's vibrant blue color on the back which highlight the logo and contrasts the front of the card.
